Unfortunately, there are many cases of animal cruelty and pet hoarding each year in San Antonio. The Humane Society works with area agencies including ACS, to care for the animals once they are removed from the harmful situations and environments they are subjected to. In 2007, the Humane Society established an Abuse & Cruelty Reward Fund, to raise awareness of, and encourage the community to come forward with information about the mistreatment of animals.
