The Humane Society/SPCA of Bexar County is carefully monitoring the progress of Hurricane Gustav, which will possibly make landfall in Texas by Wednesday morning. We are assembling teams of volunteers and have created the Disaster Preparedness page, filled with resources on how to keep your pets safe and sound in the event of an emergency. Maddies Community Collaboration
Humane Society is the lead organization. Eleven of the largest animal organizations in Bexar County are working to enhance plans to reach "no kill by 2012". We are strategically planning capacity building of 5 adoption guarantee organizations so we can "adoption transfer" more pets out of our overwhelmed local government...
